Maree — A Senior A&R manager at Sony Music Publishing — called to see if I could spend some time with Jarryd James in the studio. Hell yes I could, I love that guy’s music.

3 days bunkered down, recording everything from drums, to vocals, to interesting bass and guitar sounds — all with a few cheeky breaks at the pub — we got 3 songs completed finished in 3 days…not an easy task!

My favourite moment of the recording was when Jarryd said “Can I play some drums?“ “Of course” I said, to which I scrambled together a drumkit to which he said “just put up like 3 mics…” Magic!

This session gets a second favourite moment… we both put our iPhones near the piano and recorded it that way…damn, that was cool. iPhone lofi upright piano recording…just gotta remember to clap / count in for the sync up!
