Orlando Simmons has been assisting me for many years, the first time was with indie country artist Wil Linder — where he jumped on the drums and Wil said: “Damn….why didn’t I get him!“

Orlando’s main stay band — sadly now broken up — The Tin Heads were a killer trio of Noah, Harper and him making some waves around the Sydney scene.

With this project Orlando and I discussed the option of working on it together and him pulling out his skills. This worked so darn well. We were able to save $$$ by only using one studio day and Orlando mixed the darn thing, and did a great job!

My favourite moment of the process was the planning prior — some serious back and forth with Orlando creating some brilliant “demos“ each time. I put them in inverted commas, as he is a brillaint engineer in his own right and he really shone on this job.
